I am a wife, mother of three young adult daughters, professional longarm quilter, and card maker located north of Boston, MA. My love of color and texture pairs well with my excitement over learning new things. I enjoy exploring different creative mediums through my quilting and paper crafting. Playing with fabric, paper, and ink brings me so much enjoyment.
My quilting journey started almost 30 years ago when I pieced my first quilt. I tied or hand quilted most of my quilts until 2006, when I discovered longarm quilting. In 2009, after a few years of classes and practice, I began quilting for others. I continue to enjoy engaging with my clients to help them finish their quilts. Please see my quilting website, quilterkrista.com for information on my quilting services.
Recently an aunt showed me a card I had made for someone in elementary school. My love for card making started young! However, despite enjoying some basic card making and trying techniques like tea bag folding, it was not until 2024 that I started to really invest in learning the craft. I was re-introduced to all of the amazing tools and supplies available for card making. I have been working on expanding my creative endeavors by taking classes and participating in online summits to learn as much as possible.
My desire to continue building my skills and inspire others to exercise their creativity led me to apply to Altenew’s AECP (Educator certification program) in the spring of 2025. This blog is the first step in sharing my work and submitting my assignments for the program.
Thank you for joining me on my creative adventures as I continue in my journey as a quilter and card maker.
